Carlo Grimelli – The Acoustic Man

Carlo AcousticmanCarlo L Grimelli, AKA The Acoustic Man, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  At the ripe young age of 6, he made his first recording at Hoffman Studios in Chicago, playing the accordion. At 11, he started playing the guitar, and at 13 played in his first band, The Guill-o-Teens – a gig that lasted for about 7 years.

Carlo then moved on to tour the Midwest with the rock band Together, which landed a studio agreement with The Chicago Sound Factory Studio and Ferris Wheel Records. Following his stint with Together, Carlo bounced between a number of different bands, and eventually embraced his passion in music – writing. Since then Carlo has written over 200 songs, and is still at work!

Recently, KC Cafe Radio Music Director Kathy Forste caught up with Carlo via Skype. They talk about Carlo’s extensive music career, and passion for writing. They enjoy a frank conversation about the art of music writing, and the commonality they both share with all music writers and performers.
