Fall 2014 conference October 23-26

March 21, 2014 – Folk Alliance Region Midwest (FARM) announces they soon will be accepting submissions for Official Showcases at the 2014 conference.  The conference will be held October 23-26 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Artists wishing to participate are asked to submit two songs, preferably as videos.  According to a statement posted on the FARM website, video presentations are encouraged because it gives judges the opportunity to see the musician perform in front of a live audience. “We received positive feedback from both the artists and judges about the use of live video for evaluation.  And we enjoyed stellar showcase performances.  This approach worked so well that we feel we can ask artists to submit only two (2) song submissions instead of three.  We strongly recommend two live videos as your best presentation for judging.”

FARM conference Official Showcases will once again be coordinated by Jeff Robertson and will be handled by Listening Room Network.  A total of fourteen juried showcases will be a part of the conference.  Deadline for submissions will be May 31.

Folk Alliance Region Midwest is the regional arm of Folk Alliance International, whose purpose is to foster and promote traditional, contemporary, and multicultural folk music and dance and related performing arts.
