KC Cafe Radio Teams With West Coast Songwriters Conference

Event Provides a Showcase for music industry leaders, looking to sign new bands, songwriters or lyricists.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009 – KC Cafe Radio announces its promotional affiliation with the 29th Annual West Coast Songwriters Music Conference being held this weekend, September 12 and 13 in Los Altos, CA.
 
The event will be held at Foothill College, Los Altos CA, and includes a Band Performance Showcase, two days of seminars, song screenings, performance showcases, lyric review, one-on-one consultations, performances, networking, and a Sunset Concert on Saturday. The event runs both Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm. Registration is available at www.westcoastsongwriters.org or by calling 650-654-3966.

This event features over 40 music industry leaders who will be on hand to work closely with singer/songwriters,  bands, and those interested in the business side of the music industry. For two days these musicians are provided the rare opportunity to have one-on-one consultations with great industry leaders, develop networking opportunities, attend songwriting seminars, legal workshops, and the opportunity to perform in front of a number of highly influential music industry leaders,  all looking to sign new bands, songwriters or lyricists. 
 
Highlighting The Weekend-Long Conference:
  • Marketing your Music Online, hosted by Claytoven Richardson one of the top session vocalists, his voice can be found on albums featuring GRAMMY winning artists such as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Kenny G, Patti Austin, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.
  • Song Screenings, hosted by top producer/songwriters Narada Michael Walden (eleven acclaimed solo albums and numerous appearances at the top of the Pop and R&B charts), Scott Mathews (produced, arranged, written songs for, recorded with, and/or performed with such greats as the Beach Boys, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Huey Lewis, Boz Scaggs etc.)and Steve Seskin (successful songwriter who has written seven number one songs, including Grammy-nominated “Grown Men Don’t Cry,).
  • Performance and Band Showcase, hosted by the Mellotron Man, Mike Pinder, founder of the Moody Blues; Michael Morris of the  Rosebud Agency and Miles Hurwitz, manager and co-writer with The Matches and assistant publisher of BAM Magazine.
  • The New Band Performance Showcase will provide groups with the opportunity to receive constructive feedback regarding their style, lyrics, stage presence and sound quality. In addition to Mike Pinder and Hurwitz, Michael Morris from The Rosebud Agency and Marcus D, from Radio Alice will be on hand to give their support and advice.
