Teresa Eggertsen Cooke Gets Back Into the Game

While only having only one album under her belt, singer/songwriter Teresa Eggertsen Cooke has done it all.  She was involved in the music world all throughout high school and college performing in a rock band, but after the band, she fell out of the music world and was only reintroduced about 12 years ago.

Before starting on her own album with help from the late Andy Jackson, she made a career doing covers and bringing her own emotions to the table through borrowed words.  She didn’t expect to write her own songs, but when inspiration strikes it is hard to ignore.

Cooke sings what she likes, and she just happens to like everything.  If you listen to her album Fooled Again you’ll notice that her songs drift from genre to genre, and if you visit her website you’ll notice that the covers that she has done share the same pattern. She sings the songs as her mind thinks they should be sung.

Recently, KC Cafe Radio Music Director Kathy Forste talked with Cooke via Skype. They chat about her job racing mountain bikes, getting back into music after being out of the game, and her love for Elton John.
