KC Cafe Radio was once again pleased to have welcomed singer/songwriter Kerry Patrick Clark to our House Concert setting on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Kerry Patrick Clark is a musical Norman Rockwell. His palette is a simple 12-note scale, a 6-string guitar and one voice that seeks to sing hope into the human experience. His songs are the compass that points the heart home. He dares the dreamer in each of us to remember who we are. He challenges the believer in each of us to choose who we want to be.
Kerry Patrick Clark’s musical journey began in Fifth grade when his mother bought his father a guitar as an anniversary gift. “My dad taught me the 5 chords he knew.” Clark says smiling fondly. “I learned the songs of the singer/songwriters that moved me- John Denver, Harry Chapin, James Taylor.” Kerry learned and sang those songs until the songs in his heart sang louder than those on records or the radio.
Kerry released his first project, Life And Times, a record!- in 1985. Of the 1,000 copies that were pressed and sold that year, one made it’s way to the offices of The New Christy Minstrels. Clark toured with the Christy’s in 1985, celebrating the group’s 25th anniversary! He later recorded the projects; A Simple Man, 1994; Build A Bridge, 1996; Choose Love, 2000; 911…Songs To Heal A Nation, 2001. Ground Zero, a track from the 911… CD, was used by CNN in the 6th month anniversary special to honor those who served and those lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
