Mick Byrd is an Ozark blues and roots country rock musician from Vienna Missouri. For a long time, he juggled his music career with being a teacher and coach. Now, although he still coaches at his town’s high school, he has retired from teaching. It is a change that has allowed for him to travel more for his music. From New Orleans to Ireland, Byrd always has a good time meeting new people, seeing new things and sharing his music with the world.
Byrd’s music has been a favorite of KC Cafe Radio for nearly ten years, and his newest album, Molilne, is no different. Molilne is strictly country and country blues. Sticking to one genre is new to the artist, who enjoys going from genre to genre when performing.
Recently, KC Cafe Radio Music Director Kathy Forste talked with Byrd via Skype. They chat about their mutual love for rivers, his loving wife Debbie, and more.
